Attendance Management Plan

Rationale For Prioritising Attendance.

At Maungaturoto School, we recognise the importance of regular attendance as it has a positive impact on student wellbeing, helps tamariki feel more settled at school and achieve to their academic potential.    Research shows that regular attendance is directly linked to student engagement, academic success and positive social development.

The Government has set a target of 80% of students attending schools at least 90% of the time by 2030.   To achieve this, tamariki must attend school an average of at least 9 days a fortnight.   They can not have more than 5 days off a term.     At Maungaturoto School,  we have seen some really positive changes for tamariki who have improved their personal attendance.
